Supply teacher question- Scotland

hope someone can help. I work for a council with a perm, full time contract at a secondary school.
I have agreed to work an extra day until lunchtime every week until possibly the end of the year, but currently until the summer hols.

The school are trying to pay me this on an hourly basis, but this works out as less than my pay for another day as they aren’t including any marking/prep time. I now have full responsibility for classes with this timetable but am being paid 30% less for the day I’m in. Until lunch, working 5/7 periods..

No one is quite sure whether they can do this- it is a temp addition but I am a permanent member of staff being paid less for the same work, basically because I’m leaving 1 40 mins before the end of the day..

Does anyone have any insight with this in regards to Mccrone time and being paid for it?

My friend currently doing this in primary (Scotland). She is not paid for the prep for extra day so leaves after class tidying up. There is some prep involved though and still has her own class prep for rest of week. Don’t know if helps.

Thanks. The problem is is that I now have sole responsibility for 2 classes and so have the extra marking/reports etc which I can’t avoid because no one else takes the class.. I will see what comes of it though! Seems a bit unfair when general supply teachers will be paid more but with no prep etc
