QuestionFromMum · 07/01/2025 11:39

Hello everyone,

I am looking for recommendations - good sixth form schools/colleges for girls in South London( Wallington/Sutton or nearby areas)

Any suggestions within a 45-minute to 1-hour commute by public transport would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance🙏🏻

Where do you live as some are on postcode etc? Are you looking for September 2026?

QuestionFromMum · 07/01/2025 17:54

@QuestionFromMum once you have a postcode for your property you can start applying to state schools with sixth forms. Before then you can read the admissions policy on each school website to see the criteria.
You have missed the closing date for some Colleges, for example Esher college that has quite a large catchment via a ballot system closed on 30 Sept 2024.
Coulsdon College is accepting applications now.
Some also have entry criteria, ie 5 x GCSEs at grade 4 and above and a grade 6 or 7 in the subjects you want to study for A level etc.
The good news is that you can apply and accept as many state 6th places as you want and decide where to attend once you have your GCSEs results in late August.

@tennissquare Thank you for all the information. I will check admission policy for Coulsdon College.
Also good to know we can accept as many 6th form places.

So far we have considered wallington girls, wallington county grammar, tiffin girls, tiffin boys, sutton grammar, carshalton girls, nonsuch girls and greenshaw school.

Tiffin school has already closed its admissions for Sept 25, you need to read the admissions page of each school.

QuestionFromMum · 07/01/2025 21:41

Yeah we applied tiffin boys already (deadline was in December I think) and for girls one it’s after results
