School start dates and birthdays

dd will be three on March 18th 2005 she will start nursery two weeks later (i.e after easter)

will she start infant school in september 2006 or january 2007?

Depends how her school does it - some start them all in Sept. If hers does do a split intake then with her birthday being in the second 6 months of the academic year I would think she would start in January.

Whereabouts are you? It would be 2006 if you're in England but probably 2007 in Scotland.

In Sheffield LEA, it would be January 2007, but some schools may do half day only from Sep[tember 2006.

Just reading about the exact same thing for DD, who is 3 on April 5th. In Sheffield I think the cut off is beginning of March.
