Currently using Doodle maths but does anyone recommend any apps (paid is fine) to support learning for Yr 6 sats? Question banks would be fab. TIA 😊

Using Atom for my year 6 daughter for the same purpose, it seems to be helping her so I'm sticking with it even though we don't need the English/science and it's q expensive (though much cheaper than a tutor).

I've recommended it in the past but I find Atom pretty weak.

It costs a fortune, is fiddly to setup and use, you don't get a great deal of questions and answers for it, their support take ages to get back to you and I'm not all that sure it even helps kids pass the 11+ (I know several that used it alone and failed).

I looked into Atom but it wasn’t quite what we needed, my kid had an apple tablet so looking for an app (think doodle maths) where they can blast through a bank of questions a night and it’s not a huge chunk out of the evening. I’m not sure anything like this exists 😰

That's how we use atom - not an app but works fine on tablet. Does 2-3 islands a night (5questions per island) and I find it really easy to use/set up. You can't control what subjects the islands cover though; there is an option to set specific practices so you can for eg set 10 or 20 questions on time, or dividing fractions, or whatever. We aren't using it for exams but I'm quietly hopeful it's helping cement the curriculum; I'll know next week when mock sats results are in from school!

IXL also do something which looks great for maths and English - our school recommends the 1min a day (think it's 5 free questions) but you can also subscribe. Not sure if it's an app or just web based. My youngest likes it but oldest rejects anything from school. Worth a look

Ahh thank you! I think maybe I’ve looked at the wrong thing then 🤣 I’ll have another go with it
