NLCS School Uniform - I dislike it

This thread is somewhat arbitrary. I have been exploring schools and preparatory institutions in North London and Camden, and I have noticed minimal distinctions among them. One aspect that particularly catches my attention is the school uniform. I have a strong interest in NLCS; however, I find the uniform unappealing and, in fact, quite dislike it. Conversely, I have a favourable impression of the uniforms at SHHS and St Mary's.

I am interested to know if others experienced a significant reaction to school uniforms and whether this impacted their choice of school.

While it is hideous (wasn't remotely a factor for us when we did the 4+ several years ago, but it really bothered a good friend who HATED the uniform), I will say over the years that it washes realllllly well, and while they outgrow it the uniform itself is great first / second / third hand.

You must be v spoilt for choice to be debating on the basis of uniform, but IME NLCS is a bit different to SHHS but both are v different to most of the other schools on your shortlist. I can't imagine debating St Mary's which has a v different vibe and quite different exits to NLCS / SHHS, or comparing these to HHS. I've had DDs in two of these schools and considered all of them but they're really quite different! Good luck to you for the 4+ though!
