Waiting list position

My son is on waiting list with 2 other children in year 3. When i called Reading borough Council to get information about the position of my son. They didn’t tell me what position is my son is, first,second or third on the list. So we don’t know where we are on the list, it’s so frustrating. Does anyone have experience of not told of position on waiting list? Thank you.

I think you might need to contact the school directly, as I believe WLs are often managed by the school.

Even if he is first on the list, that is no guarantee that he will get a space as it relies on someone to leave. Also, if someone moves into the area and goes on to the WL and (say) lives nearer the school than you then they will leapfrog you.
