Hi, was wondering if anyone knows if there’s a universal rule around this?
currenrly in midst of divorce, will have to sell house based in Essex.
looking at somewhere which is about 8 miles away which comes under Hertfordshire but is about 5 miles from my daughters school. Does anyone know if we can keep my daughter in her current school if we move?. She is SEN just started in September but I understand the boroughs would be different? Don’t want to ask the school as nothings in stone yet but for the purpose of court I’d need to mention this.

thanks xx

If she is at school it’s fine, tho ofc you will need to get her there and back, so you may decide to move her. Also bear in mind that if she does stay in her current primary, depending on the area and local schools, she may not gain a place at the secondary her peers go to (as you will be living further away).
