Not a mum but I'm desperate to know
I didn't go to mca on enrollment day cause I was late and joined on the waiting list around late September but failed my appeal they said admissions will open in March 15 if there's any drop outs
I was wondering if there's any chance of me still going this year or even transferring in year 13
And if any of you have any experience how long did it take and what was the procedure like?

Hi there, your post isn’t ever so clear but are you a current year 12 A level student at another setting, and you want to move to this sixth form?

And you applied late so you don’t have a place – but the sixth form says that places may become available in March next year? That’s very strange tbh. How would places suddenly be available more than halfway through the year?

It’s very very unusual to transfer settings midway through sixth form – at the end of year 12 or in fact any time in year 12 apart from the very start. Boards, topics, texts studied may be different or done in a different order. It would be almost impossible to catch up IMO.

If that setting is a must for some reason then you could leave your current sixth form and restart year 12 there in September next year. I know of students who have done that as you are funded until age 19 so it’s possible. I’d want a really good reason tho (like – massive issues in current setting such as the A level you were doing suddenly not being offered)
