Kent test 2024 and dyslexia

Got the 11 plus results last week for my DS - very sharp boy but has severe dyslexia. Reading is a massive struggle - just a very slow reader (to the point he has often forgotten part of the question by the time he gets to the end)
He worked very hard - and we did lots of practice papers - but didn’t have a tutor.
Didn't expect him to pass but good practice anyways .. as it is he got 307 - but told me he didn’t answer a number of questions (as reading them took too long)
I emailed Kent admissions for raw scores and also asked for how many questions he didn’t attempt … and I was surprised. 7 in maths, 7 in English and 9 in reasoning.
So almost a quarter of the questions by my reckoning !
Im amazed he got 307 all considering - feels like maybe more focus on a tutor and exam technique he might have had a chance - but then again grammar probably too much for him. Considering options now - suspect we will go down the private route and small classes to support him… any thoughts ?

Definitely private school with what you’ve described. You’ll be amazed at how he’ll flourish : almost like a different child
Contextually, my family friend has her son in a prep private school in Tonbridge , Kent. There are only 7 of them in his class. She exclaims how impressive his results have been , since joining this school.
All the best , OP.
