Colyton grammar or Torquay

Hi guys,

I'm looking at schools for my children and am hoping you can help?

I was initially thinking of Colyton grammar but my niece recently had an experience there that's made me lean more towards Torquay. She really struggled with bullying and her mum just couldn't seem to get the support she needed to get it to stop. She ended up with severe anxiety and now can't mange main stream school.
I realise that grammar schools are competitive and maybe that is something that just happens but I'm hoping someone can tell me some positive stories about the Torquay grammar schools, or others near by?

Thanks xx

I have friends with daughters in the Torquay Girls grammar; I hear it’s good.
i have heard that Colyton put a lot of academic pressure on the children and there is a constant demand for high grades.
Torquay grammars, though they strive for excellence, do not put unnecessary pressure on the kids to perform. There is strong confidence building and encouragement.
i have not heard of any severe bullying incidences so cannot comment on that.
Unfortunately, bullying happens in most schools though at some level, it just depends how the school deals with it.
