What exactly happens if you submit a late application to UCAS?

For instance, what if someone submits an application to Oxford after the deadline passes?

Is it an automatic rejection or does UCAS not let it happen in the first place?

Think you just waste the space. UCAS won't reject it,

They will have more than enough to select from, so it won't be considered. You might get an automatic email.

Who missed the 6pm deadline - the school or the applicant?
