New member here but couldn't find anything about math competitions (please forgive me if there is already one). Does anyone have good recommendations for math competitions for kids in Elementary/Middle School?

Are you uk or elsewhere? (Use of elementary has me questioning).

The Maths Olympiad / Kangaroo is the one I hear about most, but I don't know the age for them.

Are you in the UK? If so, there are a few in primary and early senior school

https://www.primarymathschallenge.org.uk/fmc for age 7-9

https://www.primarymathschallenge.org.uk/ for those up to Year 6

https://ukmt.org.uk/junior-challenges for those up to Year 8

https://ukmt.org.uk/intermediate-challenges for those up to Year 11

The MEM challenges are also fantastic - much more about showing your reasoning.

If you are in the US, there are loads (state and national level) - they are much more of a thing than here (for some reason they are just not that keen on academic competitions in this country).

My son got into math contests after he randomly asked if there were math trophies. We started with smaller ones like Math Kangaroo and then joined the Beestar competition just to try it out. It wasn’t too intense, and he actually looked forward to the challenge. It gave him that little push without burning him out. Now he asks when the next one is, so I guess it worked!
