My son and I have had a very negative experience with a particular university. He was doing one of their biochemistry degree completed this in July this year as he wanted to graduate.
However, one of his modules was not marked and he did not question it as he thought he might have missed something or submitted it late. He waited for his grades to be released after summer resits but this did not happen.
This meant he could not graduate in July. During summer he applied to do masters in computing and was requested to send his manuscript of his degree by universities which he could not provide due the delayed mark.
It turned out they forgot to mark his work and we only knew this when he submitted evidence of submission. He then requested the module leader to forward his results to the universities he had applied for but this was not responded to. That was 2 weeks ago, he has sent several emails to the since without any response.
We still have not received a letter from university confirming completion of his degree and this is very frustrating and makes me very angry.
The impact of all this is that my son has lost opportunities of progressing with his studies this year. He cannot look for work because he still has not received any evidence that he has passed his program or degree classification. His emails are not being responded to and we are just here waiting until Surrey University decides.
