BBC Primary Programmes - How do I get them?

Hi all,

My dd 4y6m is very confident and quick to learn.

I have found this useful link for programmes on Digital Radio 4 and BBc 2.
However, they are all on at various times - (some for 15mins and others at 4am etc). Hardly practical.

www.bbc.co.uk/schools/guide/primary/

Is there a way to purchase these or get hold of them online. I looked at iplayer but they dont include these programmes. I have an ordinary dvd player (doesnt record) so not sure best way to get these?

Any tips would be great

I home ed and use these programmes a lot. As far as I am aware, you can't buy them unless you are a school. Our dvd player has a hard drive so I set it to record the relevant ones for the week. Do you know anyone with a video recorder you could ask?

One thing to be aware if you are recording them - they often don't run to time. We have lots of half programmes recorded - very frustrating.

Thanks, I have also posted this on Home Ed so may get some other feedack. Might borrow father-in-laws old VCR. Are hard drive DVD players pricey?

Not sure - my husband deals with all the techy stuff! I love it though - makes it so easy to record stuff.

How do you manage with the Digital Radio 4 programmes at 3am?

I have never tried recording the radio shows, but I presume it would be no different as our sky tv has the radio channels on it. You can listen to the schools radio programmes on your computer (can't remember the website but it is something like bbc.co.uk/schoolsradio. They change the programmes once a week and you can listen anytime during that week. My kids really like the movement ones.

Didnt know this existed. The BBC offer some great stuff. This is very useful. Thank you.

Do you have any other useful tips / sites. I am teaching at home until dd starts state sch in Sept.
Have a place for her at a private school.

Am torn between the two - price / quality.

She is pretty bright and Im worried she will be held back. But dont want to be a pushy mum. Just want to make sure she is having a full and wideranging experience without too much pressure...
