I'm already dreading kid starting school for risk of bullying because of surname- has 'cock' in it and I cringe every time it's said.
Is there a way to have them known as different surname in school to save them from the comments?

I worked with a teacher who got married and changed her name to Mrs Dick. Your child will be absolutely fine at school with your surname. Don't sweat the small stuff!

Sounds like you need to change his/your surname if you are embarrassed to even say it, to be honest.

Yes you can.

However I'd look into changing it legally if it's upsetting you so much.

They'll probably be fine bullying-wise. But if it bothers you it might bother them .

I assume you've got the same surname? So find a lovely one from your family tree which you can all use.

Or just pick a great name - I know a Ms Waterfall and covert her name

Don't be that person. I know teachers with the names Mrs Goodbody, Miss Blower and Mr Cockbody and boys called Beverley and Vivienne.

Don't run from it - own it.

I know a Mr Condom who is cool, not mentioning many Mr/Mrs Roach. It really depends on the personality themselvies.

Honestly surnames don’t come up that often in primary school unless there are two with the same first name in their class. I don't think our DC knew the surnames of anyone in their class!

WHY. Why oh why do people do this?! If there was ever a reason NOT to change your name after marriage, that surname is it!

I despair sometimes.

Is it your husband's name? I would have had a conversation about giving the kids my name, to honest. . .
