A-level Remark Advice Desperately Needed

I asked my school to process an A-level review of marking for me and paid the money.

They then sent me the outcome of the review which was that there was no grade change. These messages came on my school email account.

Then, my school email got deactivated so I used a new email account to contact the school.

My school didn’t give me any information if any marks had gone up or down - they just said there was no grade change. They didn’t even give me access to the reviewed mark scripts. However, on Titkok I’ve seen loads of people post videos showing how many marks not just grades they went up or down after a remark.

This seems strange to me.

Furthermore, I emailed my school’s examinations officer from my new email account, while replying to the message she sent on my old account. This was possible as the two accounts were linked so all notifications sent to one account appeared on the other.

But I’m not sure if this is a technological error as I can’t even see if the email has been sent as nothing is appearing.

By the way, the exam board was Edexcel History. I’m not sure if they give reviewed scripts or details of how many marks go up or down.

Can someone explain this problem and what I should do?

I don’t see an issue. It’s irrelevant if your marks went up or down, the grade didn’t change.

Just email the school's Exam Officer and ask for a copy of the PDF of outcome of the review of marking. Edexcel will have sent one to the school's Edexcel Online inbox. This will give you the details of whether the marks changed. Explain that your school email has been deactivated & give them your new email address.

What is the problem that needs explaining?
You applied for a review of marking which your school submitted and gave you the result, there was no change in grade.

Did you apply to get the script back?

If so, contact the school to see if they have received it yet. If not, you can still apply for it now if you want a copy, it's a different service to getting a review so you need to ask for it separately.

But knowing if your mark went up or down or no change, or having a copy of the script, isn't going to change the result of the review of marking. If you're not sure if your email sent, just phone them.

At my dc school they were asked to only use their school email for the remark issues. When I explained to them that she had left the school they said the school email stayed open for everyone until remark process over.
if you want to see the scripts apply for them.
call the school and explain you would like more precise information about the remark.
also call the school and check the position about which email to use.
basically pick up the phone to the school and get clarification and then follow up by email.

What difference will it make if you know the difference in marks?
You know the grade hasn't changed.

I have handed remarks in the past and only tell students the impact on grades not marks.

Ring the school.
