Cheam vs Putney, which area has better schools?

Hello,

My name is Niki, and my husband and I are planning to start a family in the next two years. We are currently looking for a place to buy a house, and we are deciding between Putney and Cheam (in Sutton), both of which are within our budget.

My husband hopes that our children can grow up in an area with plenty of green spaces, while I am keen on being within the catchment area of good primary and grammar schools, as well as within 30-40 minutes of reputable private schools. We both graduated from G5 Universities, so we would love for our kids to have access to top grammar or private schools, depending on their needs and abilities.

I like Putney because it's relatively close to the city center, but Cheam seems to have a very family-friendly vibe.

For those of you who live in either Cheam or Putney, I would love to hear about your experiences. What schools do your children attend, and which area do you think is better for raising children?

I appreciate any insights you can share!

Thank you,
Niki
