Son starting college

Hi,
my son is 21, and was diagnosed with autism aged 14. He wasn’t able to attend school due to high anxiety and sensory processing difficulties.
He recently decided to go back to college to do maths and English GCSEs. He signed up in June after assessments etc. He feels certain he signed up for maths on Monday and English on Tuesday. Now they are about to start, we find he has both on the same day. Firstly, this will knock him for 6, how did this happen. He’ll be angry with himself. Secondly , I’m not sure he will cope. And worry it is just setting him up to fail. College are not very communicative , but I have emailed the sen team who we have been in contact with.
I’m just a bit stuck and dumbfounded and don’t know what to do? How to help him, perhaps to accept this and work with it. But ????

Perhaps they didn't get as many signing up as expected, so they're no longer running one of the subjects on the day he signed up for. If a lot of people are on apprenticeships then they probably need both on the same day.

Reassure him that it's not his fault, the college has probably changed the timetable. Maybe there is another day he could do one of them, and the problem will be solved. If not, he'll have to just give it a go - but if it's too much then maybe he could do one this year and one next.

It's common for timetables to change once the colleges know how many people are actually honing and what they are studying.

It may be ok. He only has to go to college one day. See how it goes.
He can speak to his tutor in a week or so.

Thanks everyone for replying.
I was just panicking. College have offered him another day. But actually what if he had organised work around it!!
Not a good system
