Getting children talking about books and reading

I am currently gripped by a book that just arrived today:
Aidan Chambers: Tell Me - Children, Reading and Talk - how adults help children talk well about books
It's aimed at teachers, but is accessible and relatively jargon-free. I'm finding it inspirational ...
so I just had to tell you all about it

Does anyone else know this book?

Never heard of this book, will pop into library and see if it's there. Seems worth a read, though mine are pretty good at both reading and talking about their books.

Thanks

From what ages would you think this is appropriate? My son is 5 and I think we pretty much exhaust every book he gets from school, and others at home too. What kind of suggestions does the book make? Thanks.
