GCSE Grades- is it worth reviewing script with teacher?

DS got hod GCSE results yesterday. I've posted before about his lack of motivation etc.

He did revise but it was v last minute.

He's been lucky- passed everything but certainly hasn't achieved any of his MTG and has not achieved some of his predictions.

In a couple of his best subjects he has done worse than expected. In English language he's 2 points below the next grade up and in 2 others he's 6 points below.

His school suggests they request to go through their exam script with a teacher, ahead of asking for a remark.

We will do this with the English as its only 2 points off, but is it worth doing this with the other 2 (which are arts/ humanities).

I recognise he's very lucky to have the results he's got but obviously I'd like them to be closer to predictions and potential.

Well that’s what I was told by the DM…. It’s not made up. It happened a year ago.

Just to update.....teacher has recommended we have the English paper reviewed (2 marks off a 7).

Adding for info, found out today, we had DD’s AQA maths papers reviewed, another 2 marks were found so she has passed her maths with a 4, she was 1 mark away. College wouldn’t let her start L3 without maths, and she’s settled on L2, she won’t be moving, at least she doesn’t have to resit. Secondary school was not the best for her and I’m just happy she can now officially have it behind her.

Update - DD had her English Lang paper reviewed, her grade went from a low 6 to a high 7 - increased by 13 points! She nearly lost out on her first choice sixth form but got there in the end!

Also an update from me. My teenage daughter got two papers upgraded! Takes her best grade from a 5 to a 6.

And last update from me, my son's English language was upgraded to a 7.
