Studying ACCA

Hi all, long time lurker hoping for advice!

I am looking to continue studying accounting, and was initially planning to continue my AAT Level 4 after completing my Level 3, the plan was then to go on to study ACCA.

I have read you don't actually need to complete AAT to study ACCA and I have been misinformed. I am currently working in an accounts role doing bookkeeping at a practice.

Please can somebody advise where I would be best to start with ACCA from this point please?

You don't need to compete AAT L4 as you can go straight into what used to be F1-3 and are now Fundamentals of Financial Accounting, Management Accounting and a more general business paper. After that there will be 6 more Fundamentals papers, 2 compulsory Strategic papers and 2 optional Advanced papers.

Would your employer put you through as an apprentice? Worth asking.

If you had AAT L4 or a relevant degree you would have exemptions from these first 3 papers. They are all taken on demand, which means you don't have to worry about taking them in a one week window in March/ June/ Sept / Dec.
