Hello Mum's,
Thank you for the information posted here its really refreshing.
I am new here, my daughter joined her P2/P3 class in October 2023, I was thinking she will be moved to P3/P4 this new session but she told me she is still in P2/P3 class. I am confused the last report card received from her school was in March 2024 and it was written she is preparing for P3. I am a bit worried because the school didnt inform me about repeating a class as parents should consent to that if it happens. Please i need your advise. I will be expecting your response please.

She will do P3 work in the class as the teacher will tailor the work to the child and the correct year group. She is not repeating the year as last year she would have done P2 work and now she will be doing P3 work.

Composite classes are quite common and your dd will get taught at the P3 level even though there will be P2 children in the class as well

So your dd was in P2, and now she will be in P3. Totally normal...

One of my children is in the same position. Was a P2 in P2/3 last year and is going to be a P3 in P2/3 this year. My other child was a P2 in P1/2 and then moved to P3 in P3/4. It's all normal if you are in a composite class and it doesn't matter how they organise the composite. That really just depends on the numbers of children in each primary level and the school's staffing levels.
