My DD is in her second year of university Diagnostic Radiograph she has done really well in her exams but failed one module presentation will do resit but has been told if she fails she will be asked to withdraw from course. She is so anxious and worried she feels like it’s two years wasted of hard work let alone the financial cost. What will her choices be? No offer of retake that’s it done.

I think it’s too early to plan for failure. If she’s done well otherwise then the module presentation was probably a blip, and she’ll pass the resit if she works hard for it. How long does she have to prepare? I’d advise her to cancel all other activities and put 100% into the resit.

Thank you for your response. She has two weeks. Not that much support from the university. She suffers with anxiety already this is has made it worse. We are giving as much positive energy and support from home. She has a mild learning disability which is more exacerbated with stress, she has made the university aware, still not much help. I know she will be feeling like her life will be over, if she will be asked to leave course, she has said as much. She works so hard and will of course be focused and not out partying. She will be so hard on herself, no matter what we say. I suppose it’s me forward thinking about what can she do if the worse in her opinion happens. We as a family are believing she can get over this blip and will succeed.
