My daughter has had her results back ,she did very well. We are very proud of her.
We just don't understand on one result her predicted was lower than her actual grade . We pay for her to have a tutor after school even he has asked me why is this different.
Can anyone give me some light on this .
Many thanks.

When this happened to us it was a mistake on the report. To be honest as long as her predicted grades are good enough for whatever provider she wants to go to after GCSE’s, it doesn’t really matter what they say. It’s not like A level predicted grades for Uni applications.

You'll need to ask the teacher.

Will email the teacher. Thank you

Unless you are trying to move schools, predicted grades are just marks on a piece of paper. They are not worth giving a second thought to.

A teacher shouldn’t predict grades on one result, though, but on results throughout the year.

It's not necessarily unusual to predict GCSE grades lower than the Year 10 exam grade. The exam may not have covered the whole syllabus or included all papers/tasks which would be in the actual GCSE. If the content yet to be covered, or the skills yet to be tested, are harder, or (in the teacher's opinion)are ones in which the student might be weaker, they may well not get the same grade next summer.

Thank you . I've spoken to my daughters school. They have said the predicted grade is based on year 2 sats as they near sat year 6 sats becauseof lockdown. . My daughters school do mock exams different to other schools. She had year 10 mocks in March and in June . Will have more mocks in October in year 11 and the main mocks in February/March of next year.
