My DD (Year 5) spent about the last year doing Explore Learning and being tutored via Explore for the 11+ (we are targeting both Grammar schools as well as consortium schools).
We recently switched onto Atom at the advice of some friends who have children in private schools and she is finding it more challenging. She was showing very high scores on Explore but is coming out around 6 and 7 on the SAS on Atom (so around average). She will need to be at 8 or 9 to make entry to the schools we are applying for.
Have we wasted a year on Explore which has given us a false sense of confidence? Has anyone used both and can provide a comparison or confirm my perception?
I'm interested to know as I have a younger child who will need 11+ prep soon and don't want to repeat the same mistake.
