Hi,

My DD is currently at Croydon High (we live very near) but we are looking to move near Banstead or Epsom soon.

We have started to look at more closer options for schooling (at the moment undecided on Co-Ed v continuing SS) - would really appreciate any feedback from those that know or have had any personal experience with the mentioned schools ( or indeed recommendations of other schools in the area).
thank you in advance. 🙂

Are you looking for your dd to sit the 11 plus or an occasional place at the prep or secondary schools?

Hi
we are looking to do 11+ at this stage all depending on house move going ahead as planned

You could probably apply to all 4 to give you a good range. Sutton High being the easiest of the list and sends out offers early in the process. Lots of dc sit single sex and mixed schools and decide when they have the offers. It's a really long process and if you are adding a house move to the mix keep lots of options open and narrow them down with time, for example you might find there is a clash of entrance exam dates etc. You could add Epsom College to the list, the incoming head in Sept is very well regarded.

Er, RGS is boys only, do you mean GHS?

RGS is Reigate Grammar School. It is Co-ed. There are two RGS in Surrey which confuses things - always surprised by how few people know this!

Hi
Re-visiting the thread as we now have offers for DC at Epsom College, Reigate Grammar and Caterham School. Feeling very grateful DC has options but cannot decide between (neither can DC!). DC thinks they prefer Caterham and RGS and both would roughly be similar travel time so can’t use this as the basis to rule one out! Both have a good feel about them and we are finding it a really tough decision to make.
Would be grateful to hear from current parents at the school or anyone who knows someone to shed light on their experience on either/both.
TIA

DC1 is off to RGS in September. Aside from the travel (for us) what swung it for us was looking the GCSE options booklet. The RGS programme was more flexible.which is important for my DC. It might not be for yours!

Being able to focus on say the arts without a language requirement or avoiding a humanity to focus on extra science/maths has a lot value for us.
