Hi I have received a offer of another job.and I want to leave at the end of term which for us would be 30th July.and was wondering when to put my notice in so I would still get paid for august holidays
i have been told to put the end date of my notice for the 2nd September as we have a training day.
if I did that would I get paid for august and September?? I’m confused lol

Are you a teacher or support staff? Teachers had to give notice by 31st May to start new role in Sept. If you are support staff it's probably four weeks notice, in which case wait until four weeks before the new job starts so you still get paid for August.

I did this. You give in your notice with your leaving date as 1 September. I got paid thru the summer. I’d had a row with the HT and wanted to make a point.

If you are admin, support or a TA you just need to give the notice period in your contract which usually be four weeks. I would recommend putting your end date as 31st August unless you are planning to attend the 2nd September training day. You can email your resignation to your line manager and Headteacher during the summer break too as senior leadership do not get summers off in their protected time like other teaching staff do.

Hi thank you.I work as special needs bus driver.I work for a school but get paid by the council.it’s exactly the same as school
so I get 12 equal pay amounts a year.
I just don’t to be without pay until my new job kicks in.being a single mum.there is only my wage coming in x

It would be the School Business Manager who deals with the paperwork for leavers and not all SBM’s work during the holidays. To be fair to them, hand your resignation in now but just say your last working day will be 31st August. Then they will be able to do your leavers paperwork in good time and look to re-recruit ready for September.

I don’t work in school.I am there school bus driver.my employee is the local council.and to be honest they haven’t bothered to recruit the drivers who left last year yet.so they won’t be in a rush to get someone else

Most normal term time contracts (support staff) you would get paid for August even if you left in July as you have already done all the work for that academic year. You get paid less every month as they average it out from September-August. So you get paid even in months you don't work.

I have resigned on the 1st August before, and got my pay at the end of August and started my new job on the 2nd September.
