Leaving state for private

Is there a correct, legal? To notify a state primary school that a child will be leaving to attend private school? Do I need to register this with the council? It’s not a standard year to change schools (I.e starting y7). Google gives me lots of info about removing for home-ed but not private.

I assume you would tell your child’s current school when they leave. That would be all you need to do. The council may contact you afterwards for confirmation of your child’s new school.

Yep, just notify your current school - I think there was a form we had to fill out, but that was it.

Thank you
