PIRA and NFER scores

Also posted in Primary Education but this seems to be more active.

I'm trying to understand PIRA and NFER scores.

I think my DD got full marks in KS1 English and has a PIRA score of 131 at end of Year 3.

Maths I think she dropped a mark or two in KS1 tests but school test on NFER scores for Year 3+. She got 131.

I think the maximum mark for NFER is 140. But is PIRA the same? It seems to say top marks is 130 but that can't be right if she got 131.

How do these compare to things like CAT tests?

Presumably they don't standardised for science, history, geography, French etc?

Teachers always forget that they went to University for years to learn about standards and tests and essentially learn their own PIRA-NFER language and the rest of us haven't a clue what any of it actually means.
