Parents at my local school are concerned about road safety for children at the start and end of school. We now have a “lollipop lady” after months without one but a request to the local council for a pelican crossing has been rejected on the grounds of cost.
The school is near a junction where two minor roads meet a main road. The congestion is horrendous at pick-up time with parked cars adding to the hazard.
We want to put together a list of measures for the council to consider.
Has anyone any suggestions? Maybe schemes you have used at your own children’s schools that we can adopt.
