School Admissions 2nd Round

Hey - has anyone heard back yet about late application for schools? My daughter didn't get into our school of choice (we live walking distance to the school!) She was put in a school nearly 5 miles away that I cannot and will not send her to. She attends the nursery that is on the school grounds of our school of choice but is the only child in the full class to be put in the school we was given ! :(
All schools in surrounding villages were full but we had to do late applications for them anyway with the hope she will get in!
I'm just stressing abit as I know they started processing the applications on Monday and I just wanted to know if anyone had heard back from school admissions yet for round 2. X

it depends where you live - we sent our second round out around 12 May and since then we offer as places become available. Some local authorities don't have a second round and continually offer places while other authorities have 3rd and 4th rounds. Please contact your local school admissions team for an update

Thanks so much, I know they started processing the applications on Monday 3rd of June, so does the fact I've not heard back mean that there's currently no space for her?

in our authority we only sent letters in second round if it was possible to make an offer or if this will be your first letter (eg because you were a late applicant and you need to be offered the right to appeal etc). But again, different authorities treat this differently - some won't send the letters themselves, sometimes the come from the school etc so you'd be best emailing your school admission team to find out how it works in your area
