Private Sixth Form Northants

I am looking at private sixth form in Northants. I would appreciate any feedback from parents who have experience of these schools. Looked at Wellingborough, Pitsford, Quinton House and Akeley Wood. Grateful for any advice. Thanks

I've friends with kids at Wellingborough who love it, Pitsford and Quinton I believe are less academic.

Have you thought about Bosworth?

If you are prepared to go to Akeley, why not Stowe? Much better!

Stowe is a bit further so I had kind of ruled it out. I will have a look. I just went on the website and seems v impressive.

I've added Bosworth to the list too as this is much more local.

Stowe is a "name" school that people have heard of. This area is quite remote and DD wanted somewhere more lively. That was boarding though. As we were paying I did want the best we could get.

I went to pitsford back in the day. Pitsford and Quinton are similar, Wellingborough is more academic.

Would Oundle not suit your requirement?

Oundle or Bedford?

Don't know bedford so can't comment, but Oundle provides a westminster-level approach to education that everyone subscribes to (but doesn't have the intake level of Westminster so the grades aren't "as" high) - if that's the level of academic you are looking for.

they have an excellent reputation and with VAT coming we’ve been looking at alternatives, this one comes up tops.

Private sixth form is likely to cost us well north of £70k for the two years, so I have been looking at alternatives and these two have really caught my eye.
