Multi-academy trust sacking governing board

The mulit-academy trust that my school is part of has recently replaced the local school's governing board with members or their own trust board. I would understand this if it was a failing school or there had been some misconduct but this is not the case.
Since this has happened I have heard of 2 other schools where the same has happened. Has anyone else experienced this? It seems very odd.

I think it’s unusual and potentially leaves no local reps at all. Is there cross over? Are some local governors on the Trust Board? How big is the Trust Board? If seems an odd model if they wish to maintain good parent and staff relationships which is a function of a GB as well as strategic direction. Can local people get on the Trust Board? Will it be a sub Board of the Trust Board? I’ve seen this model. So smaller and focussed on your school?
