Does anyone have any information or experience of the admissions appeals process? My son has not been offered an place at either of the schools we listed and instead is being placed at a school where he will no know anyone...

I think (but I'm not sure) that you have to have a legitimate reason for your child to go to that school, ie, siblings, distance from home if you want to appeal. You need to look at the reason why your child did not get a place. I think someone with more info will be along later.

You need to get in touch with council admissions office straightaway to get them to send you an appeal pack. This should come with a booklet of advice on how to formulate an appeal.
