Work Based Qualifications - what's needed?

What do you need to undertake a work-based qualification? Are they essentially completely different from academic studies? Are my GCSE/A level results irrelevant? I did ok (not great) at school/college and I don't have my certs/it will be expensive and possibly fruitless to try and confirm them from 30 years ago.

There is no one answer to that question. It depends entirely on the industry and the type of qualification.

Which qualifications are you talking about? Workbased qualifications covers a massive suite of quals, from Functional Skills, Free Courses for Jobs through to Apprenticeships.
