Does anyone have children at, or know much about Rookwood school in Andover, Hampshire?

We are considering others, however Rookwood is our closest independent school.

(Unfortunately Farleigh is too much of a stretch for us.)

I would only consider it if your sole alternatives are the state secondaries in Andover. There are excellent state senior schools in Salisbury and Winchester, and really good primaries in the neighbouring villages, which would do a great job of preparing for 11+. If Farleigh is too much of a stretch, senior indies will be much harder to afford.
Rookwood is pretty much bottom of the pile of Independent schools in the area; small and very limited. There are just much better options within easy reach, some of which won't stretch you at all.

I moved my daughter to Rookwood from a rural primary and I’m so glad I did.some of those rural primaries are hanging on by a wing and a prayer (look how many are looking for a new head) Primary was great Lots of kids take and pass the 11+ and move on .. some stay. Parents were friendly and welcoming, class sizes great. If it’s all you can afford and the alternative is Andover schools I would say go for it.

Thank you both. Two very different opinions.
My children are all under age 8, so looking at the junior prep for now.

They are currently in a local village primary which is fine. But one has mild SEN and we get the feeling he’s a bit invisible, and struggling with the noise and busy atmosphere, so we were hoping Rookwood, with smaller class sizes might benefit him.
