Appropriate behaviour?

Hello. I just went to pass this by.

There is a teacher at my dc’s school who really appears to have a few favourites and recently bought quite a personal gift in for a specific child/not far off adult of the opposite sex, which they gave to this child in front of everyone. It had nothing to do with their education.

I find this a bit creepy and inappropriate. Am I over thinking it?

No definitely not overthinking it, I’m a teacher and we’re not able to buy any personal gifts. Buying gifts is a known grooming technique. I would report it to the school.

I have been mulling it over and really find it a bit distasteful/wrong so I think I will.

My school (over 20 years ago now) had a female drama teacher who groomed a teenage boy. She did stuff like that. I think it's weird. I'm not a teacher but I don't think you're supposed to give personal gifts.

@TheSquareMile I won’t divulge the nature of the gift on here but to answer your second question my dc found it strange and knows it is not appropriate thankfully.

If you think something inappropriate is going on you need to report it. Are you going to?
