School appeal help!

Hi Everyone! new to this! we have an appeal for a place in a new school for my primary schooler, he's had a tough time at his current school with bullying and unkindness which has created bad anxiety 😢 so he just really needs a fresh start. the School were applying for have said no as they are at capacity, what can we expect regarding questions etc at the appeal? just want to be as prepared as possible for him! any help will be much appreciated!🙂

What year group is this for? If it’s Y3 or above, then it will be an appeal based on prejudice, so the same as the threads on the Secondary board.

If it’s Y2 or below and the class is full with 30 children, it’s an Infant Class Size appeal which is a much harder one to win.

If you mean what will the appeal panel and the school's presenting officer ask you, I'm afraid there is no way to predict that. The appeal panel should be asking questions to make sure they understand your case and test its strength. The school's presenting officer is likely to be looking for weaknesses in your case.

If you have evidence that your son is being bullied at his current school and that the school is aware of this but have failed to do anything effective about it, you have a good case.
