Anyone else struggling to get an EHCP? *SEN*

I have an SEN child and I have been waiting weeks to get an EHCP for them. I have written to check up but had no reply. It's a nightmare at the moment as my husband also has cerebral palsy. I am juggling so many things. Do any of you have experience with getting an EHCP? Can any organisations in the Surrey/Berkshire area help? Please and thank you.

How old is your child and what has happened so far? Just so answers will match your situation.

The standard time scale is 20 weeks. In my area backlogs mean the wait is now 60 weeks.

I found it took 3 formal comments about them not responding/going over the 20 weeks before they even made the referrals for assessment. They have too many aSen Kids but enough money wait lists are long etc so in my county they ignore everyone except those who complain loudest

Where are you in the process?

If the LA is in breach of the statutory timescales IPSEA has a model letter you can use. If that doesn’t work, email the Director of Children’s Services again threatening judicial review. Then, if that fails contact SOSSEN for help with a pre-action letter.
