Hi does anyone know anything about St James RC High School in Cheadle & particularly their pastoral care, please? Our child is adopted & has just been allocated this school. Is it a nurturing school & will our child be supported emotionally?

Was it the school your chose?

I know people there but not well. All happy

You say 'allocated'.
But as an ex LAC child your child should have been near the top of any admissions criteria so you should have got your first choice.
(Unless adopted from from overseas maybe?)

Depends if it's a Catholic school.
If the child is not baptised, despite being post LAC they are often 4th or 5th on the admissions criteria

That is true, I had overlooked that.
I tend to think it isn't very Christian of those schools ...

Yes it was our first choice

Totally agree!

If you're adopted or in foster care, that's the situation, regardless of what religion you are

Thank you!

Good to hear their kids are happy.

I still can't believe our child got in. Apparently 665 kids applied for 165 places

I think my local one puts all Catholic lac and Catholic siblings ahead of non catholic lac. So makes sense
