Witham Hall School

HI,

Does anyone have first hand experience of Witham Hall School please? DH and I looked at the school a few years back and it was very lovely but it was clearly not academic. It put DH off because we will be moving from an academic Oxfordshire prep and was hoping for something similar in Lincolnshire.

I spoke to a friend with DCs there and her reviews weren't good. According to her its a nice social club with a bit of academics thrown in. She has a very academic DC who doesn't make it onto the top sets and apparently this is usually the case because top set kids are tutored outside and its common knowledge. Most of these DCs are DCs of the teachers and staff btw.

I like the school but obviously do not want to pay school fees AND THEN have to tutor my DCs after a long day.

I'll really appreciate thoughts from current or recent parents of the school

Hi @ShallWeDoLincs
My DC are at Witham Hall and flying, we love it. We haven't been here very long, but we moved from the South East and chose Witham because we felt it was more academic than the other schools we visited but still offered tonnes of sport, art, music etc. We also like that it goes up to 13 and it isnt linked to a senior school so there is no agenda to send children to a specific senior school. There isn't any chat about tutoring in our year groups, how long ago did you visit?
