Looking for some views on these please.

DS1 (6) gave up Stagecoach after a term as it was too far to travel for us and took up most of our Saturday mornings.

Have seen an advertisement for these Helen O Grady classes which are closer to us and after school so would suit better logistically but just wondered if they are any good.

Would love to hear other Mumsnetters experiences please.

My boys have been going for about 1½ years. They enjoy it - it is more relaxed than Stagecoach and it is only for one hour. I do think it depends on the teacher you get, though - like any franchise I'm sure the quality varies!

My ds did stagecoach and didn't enjoy it - they were quite strict - it was too like school for a Saturday afternoon activity. The teacher from Stagecoach also did the Helen O'Grady classes.

Thanks both for your feedback. Any others?

The main differences between Stagecoach and Helen O'Grady is the obvious HOG is just drama and SC is all three.

Also at HOG there is a set syllabus. The teachers work from set lesson plans and all schools everywhere do the same productions at the same time.

That may appeal to some but not to others.
