we applied for ds to go to the same school dd goes to and he has not been offered a place due to oversubscription. I have started the appeal process but is there anything else i should be doing.
We dont live in the catchment area for the school and at the time of applying for ds to go there ds was not there she was moved after i sent in the forms.

I can sympathise as the school I want dd to go to is oversubscribed too (no chance of appeal for us as it is nursery class). Have you googled over subscription criteria and your county to see if there are any ideas there...sorry am not much help but did not want you to go unanswered.

Have you considered moving or is that out of the question?

Presumably you wouldn't have got sibling/out of catchment priority either then ? How long is the waiting list ?

If you now qualify under the sibling rule, won't that at least push you to the top of the continued interest list?

Only just logged in after being on holiday.
They will not tell me at the moment how long the waiting list is.
Was expecting to have had something in the post from the appeal by now.
Anybody know how long you have to wait?

They are meant to send the appeals form out asap - mine arrived on Wed and instead of the 2 weeks i was told i have to complete it i have until next monday! If you already have a child at the school will your daughter not be automatically in?

I am in staffordshire and the admissions team have been really helpfu each time i call and have told me where my son is on the waiting list - he is 2nd.

I am just collecting as much info as i can and getting letters of support from his nursery, health visitor and even have our local MP writing the the Head of Admissions!

Good luck!

Not all schools/LAs have a sibling rule so it is worth checking.
