Hi,

Could someone with experience in 4+ admission to SPCS and/or QCPS let me know how you found the process (hard/easy to get in)? Did you register your child at birth? Are references from parents of current/former pupils needed?

Hi - I just noticed no one has replied to you on this. Happy to help as we went through the assessment for SPCS and subsequently accepted. We registered the year before entry and you're then invited to attend an assessment day which is in November. I have had some lovely interactions with parents who send their children there - we feel as though we have made a decision on diversity and non traditional pushy schools with smaller class sizes etc... felt like a good all rounder.

We have two daughters who joined QCPS from reception (and one so far through to QCL). We had signed them up at birth to another girls’ school in Notting Hill, then closer to the start date, I panicked after attending an event there and it didn't seem right for us. Our nursery recommended we look at QCPS. Our tour with Mr Barnard sold us - he knew all the girls' names and many volunteered to answer questions in front of strangers with confidence. We pestered them weekly to find us a last minute place - which they did. We wouldn't look back - it was one of best decisions for our girls. As far as I know, you can attend open days anytime through the process and certainly don't need to book them in at the birth! I think they now meet the girls as part of the process but I think it's pretty low key. Hope that helps!
