Secondary school parent governors

Is anyone on MN one? I haven't been a parent governor at primary school, but am thinking of standing at DS's secondary school. I'm worried about being able to hold my own with the rather high-powered dads in suits!

I'm a parent governor at a secondary. There aren't many dads- I think we have about 4 parent governors. The rest are teachers or LEA or community governors & all are very nice! A good head of governors should ensure everyone has a chance to put their five pennorth in. Go for it!

I am a parent governor and agree that 'suits', both male and female can be intimidating, BUT a balance is very important in any board...go for it!

Thanks tallulah and anteater for the encouragement. I'd like to support our school in this way. I know there will be an election coming up next month, so I think I'll have a go.
