Online A level resit recommendations?

Does anyone have a recommendation for an online A level resit company? My son was very ill with his mental health during his A levels. He did them over 3 years because of his autism and his mental health doing 2 in 2022 and one in 2023. He was very ill last academic year, like would've been admitted to a mental health ward if there was a bed ill, so missed nearly all year. I mention this as obviously he can't do a third year at college hence the online course instead.

He still got a B but he wants to get this up so he can get into the uni of his choice to do psychology next year. He only needs to retake one and get it a grade higher.

I've been looking online but there are lots of courses and it's hard to tell which are good.

did the examining board know the difficulties he was enduring during the exam period?

I don't know to be honest. He did get all his accommodations. I don't know if the college told them how ill he'd been that year.

You would need to find one following the same board. A B is good though especially in the circumstances. Tbh it might be as well to apply now with the mitigating factors and see if he gets offers without.

really? based on. what you have said this situation would be taken in to account

i’m pretty shocked you didn’t look in to this or the school didn’t discuss with you

Which board?

Which subjects did he do and what did he get in each one?

I'm wondering whether private tutoring would be the way forward.

AQA psychology is the one he wants to retake. He also did politics and business studies and got 3 Bs. He will get a contextual offer so bumping up one to an A will be enough.

Does DS not have an EHCP?

If DS needs more complex access arrangements, you may struggle to find a centre that can accommodate DS as a private candidate. Normally things like a separate room need booking early.

Have you spoken to his Psychology teacher about this? I am wondering whether he/she would be allowed to offer tutoring .on a private basis

Thanks I'll look into that straight away
