Hi,
My son would like to be self employed and is very looking into setting up his own business. I do not have a good idea about business schools the uk.
Are business schools private only? Or should we look at business studies at university? Which uni are best rated for business studies?
Or any entrepreneurship courses?
Any leads would be appreciated

For info he is in Y10, does GCSE business, reasonably bright, has a part time job and also a couple of "hustles" on the side. He has adhd hence the not wanting to have a boss or sitting behind a computer all day. Super sporty too

For someone of his age, I would wonder about keeping his options open at this stage.

If he makes himself employable to an employer, he can then move to self-employment after establishing himself in a career. With the right qualifications under his belt, the choice will always be his; if he doesn't get further qualifications and his business doesn't work out, it could be very difficult for him.

It would stand him in good stead to take A Levels and a degree and then see how he feels at that point, when he will be in his early 20s.

I'm not sure about taking Business Studies per se as a degree; which of his current subjects is he good at and really interested in?

I wonder whether taking three subjects he really likes at A Level and then combining one of them with something like Management as a Joint Honours would be the way forward for him.
