Thorpe Hall School

We are contemplating sending DD to Thorpe Hall School. Does anyone have experience of the school and the outcomes of students?

What were the GCSES results this year and where do the students go on to afterwards? DD missed the 11 plus by 2 marks. Do many go to grammar school at 6th form?

Thank you in advance.

I don't think it's an academic school @Blinky79. Your daughter might be better off at your catchment school, hopefully someones will be able to help.

She was very close so is clearly an able student.

We are also considering TH for our daughter for the Grammar stream. We were quite impressed with the school during the Open Morning, great facilities but not crowded. The teachers were friendly and approachable. We visited a grammar stream class during their chemistry lesson and the students looked well engaged. The head teacher seems driven and ambitious. The GCSE results from gov.uk site look like above England average and same as Local Authority average. I think it all depends on what the priorities are for each family but TH seems to be a good school if there is a bit more need for closer attention, and a calmer environment for the child where they can be exposed to a wide range of skill based experiences, and choices.
