Hi, Sutton results are out and DD scored 309. Highest standardise score is 389 and lowest total standardise is 228. Does anyone know if DD has a chance to get in Nonsuch? We are outside cathment area and I know they have 85 places not linked to the addresses.

She would have made it by October 20 according to this, but not since.

Thank you for the data

They had an extra class that year so that years results are not as helpful. I would look at the last two years for an indication. You would definitely get in in catchment and might get out of catchment for Wallington. Good luck.

@Thesoundofmusic23 - Can we move in to the catchment after national offer day? What is the process to inform council? We are in the designated are of Tiffin girls. Moving out now means giving up on Tiffin even before attempting the second stage which is on 11th Nov

I’m not sure about timeframes for moving and if changing address is possible. Have you reviewed the admissions policy? Maybe email the school if the policy is not clear.

PatriciaHolm · 19/10/2023 10:57

The address for allocations is the permanent address of the child on October 31st.

If you move for good reason before December 12, and can evidence you no longer have the previous address at that point, your new address may be used, but each request is looked at individually for this. You would need to have fully moved.

Thanks @PatriciaHolm @Thesoundofmusic23 but my question was about moving into the catchment after 1st March (when initial offers are given already). For eg assume we will be in the waiting list and moved into catchment in April or May. I know it’s complicated and I maybe have to speak to school. The reason why we don’t want to move before 1st March is, we need to give DD a chance for Tiffin for which we are in the designated area and the nearest school for us.

Not sure - I think you need to speak to the school. What about Wallington Girls which I think you will likely already qualify for? Could be easier than moving house. Then you could still put Tiffin first.

PatriciaHolm · 19/10/2023 13:23

Yes, you can move after allocation day, and your place on the waiting list would be adjusted accordingly if you moved into catchment, but again for your address to be used, you would need to be fully moved and have relinquished the current address completely.

Thank you @PatriciaHolm

We were in a similar position to you OP, a few years ago now. In designated area for Tiffin Girls, but too far for both Nonsuch and Wallington Girls.

Can't remember dd's exact score on the SET, but think it was just over 300 (less than your dd). She didn't pass Tiffin, so that was not an option. Then on NOD, she was on the WL for both Nonsuch and Wallington. Then in April, she got offered Wallington, but by then we had decided not to move to Sutton after all. So we had to decline, as didn't want her to have a 1.5 hour commute there.

I think you should definitely sit it out in Isleworth (assuming that's where you live based on your username) and wait and see what happens on NOD. Are you renting or own? Obviously renting will be easier to up sticks at short notice.

Bare in mind that Hounslow has excellent comprehensive options as well, such as the Green School, Brentford Girls, Bolder Academy etc.

That's great score!!
You might get a place for Wallington.

Cathy346 · 23/10/2023 23:41

Yes possible
