Hi parents,
Looking for some first hand experience of WBH & RMS. Here is a little background...
For various reasons, we are looking to move our 2 x DD's out of their current state primary (which is excellent and we are happy with) to another school come Sept 2024. Reason being that we are in a terrible area for state secondary's (either a bit rough or good ones out of catchment) and the independents locally are very pressured academically which we want to avoid. We are looking at either relocating for some great state secondary options (which would be an emotional burden as we are the kids are very close to family locally) or to an independent which is not too far away.
Westrbook Hay has just announced they are going to be going up to GCSE's now and it has really peaked our interest as we did an open day last year and loved it - but then discounted it as it only goes up to 13.
However, the new secondary offering is really appealing as it also avoids stressful entrance exams and deciding on another school come secondary time. This might seem lazy to some - but we just want the kids to be happy without the added stress of 11+ exams and also going into schools which are far more academically focused.
Our impression of both WBH and RMS is that the kids get a really rounded education which caters for all levels and individual interests are nurtured - be that academia or otherwise.
So, we would love some feedback on the schools from parents who have or have recently had kids in either school (particularly ones with DD's as we notice that the ratio of boys/girls is about 2/3 in WBH).
What do you and your kids love, what don't you love, what makes the schools right for you?!
Many thanks in advance!!
